Privacy policy
Effective October 23, 2026. This covers the FitGymLog Android app.
What the app stores
Your workouts, routines, exercises and settings are stored on your phone. The developer runs no servers and receives none of your data. The app has no ads, analytics or accounts. If your phone's Android backup is on, Android includes the app's data in that backup to your own Google account, as it does for other apps; the coach's API key is left out.
Google Drive sync (optional)
If you turn on sync, the app keeps one sync file in the hidden app data folder of your own Google Drive, using the drive.appdata permission. That permission lets the app see only its own folder, not your other Drive files. The file holds your workouts, routines and custom exercises so your devices stay in step. If you also turn on Keep coach data in Google Drive, a second file there holds the coach's saved notes, workout notes and body measurements. Only your Google account can reach these files.
Health Connect (optional)
If you turn it on, the app writes each finished workout to Health Connect on your phone: its type, start and end time, title, and a summary of sets, with each cardio block as a session of its own and, if you allow those too, a treadmill's speed and a cardio block's distance. Apps you allow, such as Samsung Health, can then read it there. If you also allow reading exercise, the app looks at the exercise other apps saved during that workout, such as a run your band detected, only to leave out a cardio block they already recorded; it keeps nothing it reads. If you allow reading weight and body fat, the app also reads what your scale app saved in Health Connect, up to a year back if you allow past data, and uses it in the Stats chart, for your calorie target and for the coach, which sends the recent ones to your AI provider.
Coach (optional)
The coach is off unless you turn it on and enter an AI provider's address and your own API key, or the address of a model on your own phone or local network, such as Ollama, which needs no key and may use plain http within that network. When you use it, the app sends that provider your recent workouts and sets, today's workout with how long you've trained and the rest between sets, your bodyweight, sex and goal, your recent body measurements, including any read from Health Connect, the daily calorie target the app works out, your messages to the coach, in chat the names of the exercises in the app, including ones you created, and, if you allow it, the notes you saved. When you ask it about a week in the weekly check-in, it also sends that week's totals, new records, missed reps and weight trend, and your routines with their exercises. A screenshot you ask it to read, such as a scale or InBody result, is sent to that provider too. Height and birth date, if you enter them, are used only on the phone to work out that target. Body measurements you save stay on your phone and in its Android backup, and in Drive only if you keep coach data there. Nothing goes to the developer. The provider's own terms and privacy policy cover what it does with that data; some free tiers use requests to improve their products. The key is encrypted on your phone with the Android Keystore and is left out of backups. The chat, saved notes, workout notes and weekly check-ins stay on your phone, and in its Android backup, unless you also choose to keep the notes in Google Drive. Settings, Coach, Preview what is sent shows the exact request for today's targets.
Links and previews
To show exercise icons in lists and previews in a form guide, the app loads the linked page or video thumbnail directly from that site, such as YouTube, StrongLifts or StrengthLog. Those sites see an ordinary web request from your phone.
Files you import or export
Import and export use files you pick. The app reads or writes only those files.
Deleting your data
- Uninstalling the app deletes the data on your phone.
- To delete the sync file, open Google Drive on the web, go to Settings, then Manage apps, and choose Delete hidden app data for FitGymLog.
- To stop Drive access, remove FitGymLog at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Workouts written to Health Connect can be deleted in the Health Connect settings on your phone.
